At South Beccles Pre-School we understand the importance of working alongside parents / carers to provide the best learning opportunities for the child. We are aware that a child's first - and most important - educators are the parents. Similarly we will work with parents to help settle the child into the pre-school as per our transition policy. We welcome parents to stay with their child until they feel that they are settled, and if there are any problems with this then we will work with you to make this transition easier. We understand that sometimes it can be as hard for the parents as for the child.

Similarily, we welcome all parental support within the pre-school. We have a parent helper rota that all parents/carers are invited to participate in. Many of the permanent staff at the pre-school started off as parent helpers! Additionally, each child will have their own personal key-worker who is always available for you to discuss any issues regarding your child, but as we are such a small settting, and all the staff work so closely together, please feel free to talk to any staff member.

At the pre-school we also value parental feed-back and opportunties are made available for this through the children's learning journeys, parental questionnaires and a suggestion box and book.

Parent Committee
South Beccles Pre-School is a registered charity and is, by law, managed by a committee made up of parents. The committee consistes of Chairperson, Treasurer and committee members. The Pre-School has adopted the Pre-School Learning Alliance constitution, a copy of which is available from the Chairperson. Details about the current committee members are on the staff board.

Without the committee the Pre-School could not run and we urge you to give committee meetings your full support whenever possible. Meetings are held throughout the year and if you would like to join the committee, or just come along to see what is being planned, you will be most welcome.

The committee is responsible for employing staff, approving the Pre-School policies, and making sure that Ofsted regulations are adhered to. They also do the important job of fundraising - PreSchool fees cover expenses such as staff wages, rent, insurance and refreshments for the children. Fundraising covers extras such as new toys, equipment, resources, and any paid for entertainment for the children.

Ideas for fundraising, and your help and support are always needed.

This is your pre-school - please help us to keep it running as successfully as it has done in the past.
