Below details are for the morning session but will be relative to the afternoon session too
9 - 9.30
• Staff arive and set up room carrying out the necessary jobs for the day eg setting up the
toilets

• After checking all bolts and notices are in place, a member of staff opens the door to
welcome children and stays on the door until all children have arrived/parent's and carer's
have left
• Children find their name to hang on the name tree
• Supervisor marks register with the time as children enter
• Remaining staff members help children to settle

• Morning carpet time - children sit on the carpet and take it in turns to say 'Good morning'
to everyone. We count how many children and how many grown ups there are, and do the
day and weather board.
• We then may look at a chid's 'All about me' book, or see if anyone has anything they
want to talk about
• We then discuss what activities we have planned for that day

• Free play.
• Outside will be open - one member of staff and four children at a time
• Children may have a drink at any time
• Adult-focused activities may be carried out with small groups/individual children.

• The large drum is banged and all children move to the book corner.
• The children are then given jobs to help with the general tidying away

• Rolling snack bar is open.
• The children help to prepare the fruit/vefetables and fill in the day's snack board.
• Children wash their hands and collect their pacemat and sit at one of the provided tables.
• More freee play for children while they are not having their snack.

• There may be another adult-focused activity such as parachutes, footballs or social
interaction group activities - this time focusing on the whole group.
• After this the children are again called to the book corner, with one member of staff
leading and one supporting, where they will have a story read and songs sung
• Staff who are not in the book corner, will continue tidying away, put pictures in children's
pockets etc

Member of staff opens door for parents/carers to come in and remains on the door until all
parents.carers and children have gone.
Staff member marks the register with the time that children leave.
Remaining staff to talk to parents etc, and make sure the accident book / medical book is
signed if needed
